Vanquishers Rise of the Wrecking Crew
This book is the third of the series so here is some background information: The Vanquishers are a group of people specifically trained to fight vampires and vampires only. They have a Wrecking Crew, which mostly consists of people that the Vanquishers found but aren’t ready to join the Vanquishers just yet. Now recently this group of people has been infiltrated by vampires and 3 of their members have been turned into vampires. Fortunately, Vampires can have a mind of their own and can choose what they do so the people that got turned stayed within the Vanquishers kind of circle and kept fighting alongside them. Now the reason that the Vanquishers seemed fairly weak is because the person/vampire that they are fighting against used to be one of their own. Back then they had a crew member called Natalia, who turned on them because of a belief that one of the Vanquishers killed her parents, and now she basically has a whole agenda against them. She got access to Dracula’s blood and was able to enhance her powers infinitely because Dracula was the first Vampire alive making him the most powerful. Even though this seems pretty hopeless for the Vanquishers and the Wrecking Crew, they had an ace up their sleeve, there was an original vampire who was turned into a vampire by Dracula himself, and she goes by the name Mina Parker, She is the only person capable of defeating Natalia, and sure enough, when the time comes, she delivers. She relieves the Vanquishers of Natalia’s grasp and ends up defeating her, but not before she turns the protagonist in which we see the book through into another dracula fledgling.
Thalia Grace was Percy Jackson’s friend and a daughter of Zeus. Years before the events of the book, she sacrificed herself to protect her friends from monsters. Zeus then transformed her into a pine tree, which became part of the magical barrier protecting Camp Half-Blood.
In The Sea of Monsters, the magical tree becomes poisoned, causing the camp’s protective barrier to fail. Percy, Annabeth, Tyson, and Clarisse go on a dangerous quest to find the Golden Fleece, a magical object that can heal the tree.
After the Golden Fleece is brought back to Camp Half-Blood, it heals Thalia’s tree—but the magic does much more than expected. Thalia is restored to human form and comes back to life. Percy helps make the quest possible, but the Golden Fleece is what actually saves and revives Thalia.
This book is about a gymnast in the 1936 Olympics and takes place in Nazi Germany while wwII was about to start. Now this book isn’t about the olympics at all but about a gymnast named Evie trying to rob a Nazi bank in order to get back at Nazis for all the wrong they are doing to jews and black people. At first it was all about getting the gold in the Olympics but as the time goes on she ends up failing her team in the Olympics but takes home the gold anyway(in a sense).
